Bihar government decided to lower the registration fees of motor vehicles

The Bihar government has recently announced a significant reduction in vehicle registration charges to make vehicle ownership more affordable. Approved by the state cabinet, before the cost to register a vehicle in Bihar was much higher than in other states. Because of this, many people bought vehicles from other states instead, causing the Bihar government to lose a lot of money. These reductions are substantial across various categories:

  • Motorcycles: Registration fees reduced from ₹1,500 to ₹1,150.
  • Auto-rickshaws: From ₹5,650 to ₹1,150.
  • Cabs: From ₹23,650 to ₹4,150.

This decision of Nitish Cabinet is expected to increase the sale of vehicles in Bihar. Also, people will get a chance to buy cheap vehicles in their own state.

In the meeting, it was decided that municipal corporation employees will receive the seventh pay scale. This increase will be funded by the municipal body’s resources.

Also, 94 lakh girls aged 9 to 14 in Bihar will get a vaccine to prevent cervical cancer through a new scheme called the CM Balika Cancer Immunization Scheme. This information was shared by Cabinet Additional Chief Secretary Dr. S Siddharth.
